Tune your ukulele with the microphone of your phone or computer. The ukulele preset is already selected: press the microphone, play a string, and the tuner shows the note and whether it is too low or too high.

Soprano, concert and tenor ukuleles use the same tuning. The G string is higher than the C string (“high G” or reentrant tuning). With a low-G string, tune it to G3 instead.
How to tune a ukulele in 3 steps
- Press the microphone button and allow microphone access when your browser asks.
- Play one open string and let it ring. The tuner shows the note and a needle: left is flat, right is sharp.
- Turn the tuning peg slowly until the needle stays in the centre. Repeat for every string.
Tips for tuning a ukulele
- New nylon strings stretch for a few days. Tune often until they settle.
- Pluck with the thumb, not a pick, and let the note ring.
- Tune up to the note: if a string is sharp, loosen it a little below the note and bring it back up.
- Without a microphone, tap a note button under the menu to hear its reference tone and tune by ear.
